Responsible for following directions in order to perform service and maintenance of gas engine compressor packages and associate equipment for multiple applications. Responsible for learning and adhering to safety and environmental standards. The person in this position should be considered a starter in this field.
Overall Responsibilities and Qualifications:
The Service Technician I has 1-2 years’ experience in mechanical activities. Performs monthly maintenance and minor repairs, provides labor for repair needs and overhauls under close supervision. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, basic knowledge of hand and power tools and ability to read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and installation & maintenance instructions. Strong focus on all aspects of a safe workplace and safety, and maintains up-to-date training and knowledge on an ongoing basis. Responsible for following directions in written form and directions given by a supervisor, and reporting back any changes, deviations or issues for direction. Provide input to manager of progress of work.

Physical Characteristics:
Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with the use of proper lifting techniques. Stand, walk, climb, perform overhead work with fall protection, use hands to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms, sit, talk and hear. At least 20/40 arrested binocular vision, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to kneel, balance, push, pull, drive, stoop, climb, and crouch. This position may require 12 hour daily work shifts in exposed outdoor environment for extended times. Limited travel may be required.
