Fabricates precision parts for prototype equipment and fixtures working from sketches, drawings, and/or blueprints. Performs a broad range of duties involving moderately complex assignments and projects. Identifies the desired machined part with internal customers through the use of sketches, drawings, and/or blueprints. Selects and sets-up the proper tools and machine for each job. Operates various machine shop equipment to produce close tolerance machined parts to print specifications. Assists in troubleshooting and making repairs to production fixtures and machinery when necessary. Works independently under limited supervision. Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic math. Must have knowledge of required tools and maintenance care. Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations with a strong dedication to safety. High school degree or equivalent, vocational training a plus. 5 years prior experience as a machinist in a shop environment. Physical demands are exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
